# Questionnaires: several questions in one poll

A poll can now have several questions, each of its own type, split into pages and with results per question. What it is, how it works and what is left out.

Until today a GloboPoll poll was a single question: the one in the title. That was fine for what the platform was born for (one question, one result, one link to share), but it fell short as soon as someone wanted to know two things at once: "how would you rate us?" and "what would you improve?". The answer was to create two polls, and voters had to vote twice.

From today there is the **questionnaire**: a poll with **several questions**, each of the type you want.

## What it is

A questionnaire is one more poll type, like multiple choice or ranking. The difference is that it holds a list of questions, and each question has its own ballot:

- **single choice**, **multiple choice** (with a minimum and a maximum) or **yes / no / abstain**;
- **rating** (stars, numeric scale, slider or NPS);
- **ranking** or **point allocation** (the advanced ballots of the Pro plan, which stay advanced inside a questionnaire).

Each question is counted with its own tally and has its own result: the mean of the rating, the count per option of the choice, the final order of the ranking. The poll, however, has **one vote per person**: voters fill in every question on one ballot, and the single-vote rule (per account, or per connection and browser) is the usual one.

## How to create one

In the editor, the "Questionnaire" type replaces the "Options" tab with a **"Questions"** tab. Each question has its wording, its type, whether it is **required** or optional and, if you want, a **section**: a title that opens a new page when voting. Without sections, all questions go on one page; with them, voters move with "Next" and "Previous" and can only turn the page once the required questions are answered.

Everything that already existed stays the same: questions are moderated like any other content, the poll is shared with the same link, and votes are exported to CSV with a new column that says which question each row answers. The results CSV also goes question by question.

## What voters see

The public page shows the questions page by page, with each one numbered and marked "optional" where it applies. At the end, the results appear **question by question**, with the visualization that matches each ballot. If the poll allows changing your vote, you can go back to the ballot with everything you answered already marked.

The widget for other websites does not render the questionnaire: it shows the question, how many questions there are and a button to answer it on GloboPoll, as already happens with ratings and rankings.

## What changes with the plan

The questionnaire is a **Pro plan** feature, with up to **ten questions** per poll. The Free plan stays as it was: one question per poll, with all the free types.

## What is left out, for now

This is the basic version. Not yet included are the **matrix** (several rows sharing one scale), **long text** questions, **conditional logic** ("if you answered this, skip to that") or images in the options of a questionnaire. They are in the plan, in that order, and will arrive when someone really needs them.

If you have a questionnaire in mind and it does not fit what is here, write to us from the contact page: it is the fastest way to move it up the list.

If you are not sure which poll type fits, [Nine poll types: which one to use, and when](https://www.globopoll.com/en/blog/six-poll-types) covers each one with an example, how it is counted and which plan includes it.
